We’ve received reports of survey stakes (left) and tree tags (right) being removed along the North Lake shoreline that we are hoping to purchase for public use. If you see the stakes and white or orange tape on trees, please do not remove them!
This is part of the work, mandated by the city of Federal Way, that landowner IRG is doing toward "understanding the trees to be saved and the wetlands to be preserved” on this 53.8-acre piece of the former Weyerhaeuser campus.
In our state, it is a gross misdemeanor to remove survey markers. Read more about that here. Removing markers and tags means more cost for the landowner when the work has to be redone.
This could result in IRG closing the trails and the rest of the campus to public use.
Please pass the word!
