The Latest
Moratorium motion ruled out of order
At the Oct. 4 Federal Way City Council meeting, Councilmember Dini Duclos made a motion to discuss a moratorium on the Weyerhaeuser campus “as discussed by the citizens of Federal Way.” The motion was seconded by Councilmember Susan Honda.
However, an assistant city attorney ruled that the motion was out of order under City Council rule 3.5: Amendments to the agenda must be made at the beginning of the public meeting.
No discussion or vote could occur.
We appreciate Councilmembers Duclos and Honda for standing up and trying to get the conversation started. Please keep up the pressure on the rest of the council!
