On Oct. 9, 2020 the city of Federal Way issued an environmental Mitigated Determination of Nonsignificance for Woodbridge Building B, commonly known as Warehouse B. On Oct. 23, Save Weyerhaeuser Campus submitted comments to the city that included pointing out its continued lack of review of the national historic significance of the campus:

“The historical importance of the former Weyerhaeuser corporate campus is exceptional. This is evidenced by IRG’s own consultant, Cardno, Inc., in identifying it as a historic district eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.”

Our comments also noted that the proposed forested buffers are not deep enough to screen the massive warehouse from view and the city has not considered the expected loss of trees in the buffer to wind and other effects once the interior trees are gone.

On Nov. 12, SWC filed an appeal of the city’s MDNS. Read our appeal here.

We are still awaiting the city’s land-use decision on Warehouse B.
